Everhollow patch notes

New creatures: weather and seasons

Twenty new creatures have arrived, and each one only shows up in its own weather or season. Each has a Radiant coat, an evolution and a special move of its own, and the Creaturepedia tells you when to look.

Weather creatures

  • Rain: Drizzlet, a little frog under a leaf umbrella, and Iridsnail with its rainbow shell (daytime only)
  • Storms: Thundercub in the meadows, and Galegull over the water
  • Fog: Mistmoth
  • Cloudy days: Breezeling
  • Desert: Whirlkit in a dust haze, Duneshark in a sandstorm, Shimmerfly in a heat shimmer
  • The north: Squallhare in blizzards, Driftling in frost fog
  • Ashlands: Emberwhirl in ember storms
  • The Blight: Gravemist, which rises with the grave mist

When the weather clears, its creatures drift away with it, so catch them while you can!

Seasonal creatures

  • Spring: Bloomlamb and Puffseed
  • Summer: Lumibug glowing on summer nights, and Cicadin singing in the trees
  • Autumn: Mapleaf and Gourdmouse
  • Winter: Hollyhog

🛡️ Team of three

  • Pick up to two team-mates in the Creatures window (P).
  • If your companion faints in battle, the next team-mate jumps in and carries on the fight. The wild creature doesn't get a breather in between.
  • Your team sits at the top of the window, with everyone's health shown.
  • Creatures resting in your den now heal over time and recover from fainting.

📋 Sorting your creatures

  • Sort your den by Newest, Level, Element, Name or Stats.
  • Star your favorites. They stay at the top, can be shown on their own, and can't be released by accident.
  • The buttons for each creature now sit right under its name.

⚔️ Fairer boss fights

  • Dungeon bosses no longer flatten a same-level companion in two hits. Their fights are now long and tough, but you can win them.
  • Your companion card now shows when its special move is ready: the bar turns gold and the Q key lights up.

🔨 Tools wear out

  • Pickaxes, axes, hoes, the Builder's Hammer and fishing rods now have durability. Watering cans don't.
  • A small bar under each tool goes from green to yellow to red as it wears down. When it runs out, the tool breaks.
  • Better tools last much longer.

🏃 Other changes

  • You can always outrun creatures that chase you. They run a little slower than you do.
  • Big creatures and legendaries can now be clicked anywhere on their body, not only at their feet.
  • Windows open smoothly without flickering.
  • All in-game text has been tidied up and is clearer to read.
  • The riding saddle is put away for now, but saddlebags still work. Saddles you already have keep working.
